Hello Brilliant Minds, With finals over, I decided to write on a few things you can involve yourself in to ensure a productive spring and summer break, especially during a pandemic.
1. Online Courses So many universities and schools offer courses during the break, either part or full time. It is especially useful for part-time university students trying to fulfill the rest of their credits. However, my advice is to make sure you only do courses you are sure you can handle with your pre-existing schedule. Spring and summer courses are only five weeks, and the workload is quite a lot.
2. Volunteer Experience Find a charity or institution you are passionate about and get involved. You could also take part in an internship or any community programme. Not only is it a fun experience, but it also adds experience to your CV.
3. Part-Time Job What better way to make money than to get a part-time or summer job. You get to make new connections and meet new friends. It also increases your experience.
4. Plan for the Next Semester You can start planning your schedule for next year, including whatever clubs, societies or work experience you will be involved in. You can plan your class schedule to accommodate your various interests. Planning ahead of time like this helps you deal better under stress when it arises.
5. Miscellaneous: Finally, the break is an opportunity to nurture your interests. Whether it’s sports, fitness, athletics, art or music, you have the opportunity to have mindless fun and focus on your mental health. School is draining, and a break is always necessary.
Have a wonderful, safe and well-deserved break! 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
