You're half way there!

With the Fall semester behind us, the excitement for the Spring/Summer break is fast approaching. While this well-deserved holiday is a relief to everyone, there is still a whole term yet to conquer.

Rather than just focusing on how you can succeed academically this term, I want to mention a few activities you can involve yourself to keep your mental health at bay during this lockdown in your free time.

1. Get a Job

Being financially independent is always refreshing and there’s no better time to get a job than now. There are several online and in-person opportunities for students you can access as long as you can connect with the right resources. You could also do some volunteer work or apply for internships to gain experience. All these help build up your resume.

2. Binge Series

If you are ever looking for a distraction from a hectic schedule, binging series on Netflix or watching TV, in general, is certainly not a bad idea. Remember: all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

3. Social Media

You can keep up to date with all the latest news through social media and build connections. An app I would strongly recommend is Clubhouse (only available on the AppStore) if you’re looking for a platform to connect with people with similar interests.

4. Get Some Fresh Air and Meditate

Take a walk and enjoy nature. Just because we’re under lockdown does not mean you should hibernate.

5. Exercise

Though many gyms are closed down because of the global pandemic, online fitness courses are always a cheaper alternative. Push yourself to your limit and maintain or achieve your fitness goals. As long as you put in the work, anything is possible.

6. Sleep

Get well-rested and try to get a good amount of sleep.
